A photo book featuring traditional residential houses all the way from
Hokkaido in the far north to Okinawa in the far south. Houses reflect
the impact and needs of the local climate and culture and these photos
introduce how they have evolved as a consequence. Some houses that have
gone through long years up until today, which have often included severe
environments, exhibit their strength while others portray the style of the
inhabitant’s family business.
